They’re difficult to describe. They’re about 4ft high and they look like people – they’re dressed, with hair and clothes, and they’ve all got their own distinctive characters. One day I might exhibit them.” Is there any overlap between creating a character on film and carving one out of wood? “Oh totally. It’s exactly the same thing – making up people from observation.” |
