A lot of the time I could see they were very confused. That’s what was nice about the cauliflower-cheese scones because you could see them thinking “Oh, I get it now.” What’s been lovely is that, actually, it’s turned. People got fed up with that criticism and supported me for my style. Not that the substance wasn’t there. I don’t want people thinking taste isn’t important to me, because it is. It was really annoying when my lavender and lemon opera cake didn’t hit the operatic heights. |
